From The Wall Street Journal---Saudi Arabia has offered a solution to assist the wave of Syrian refugees coming to Germany. The Kingdom has offered to build 200 mosques to accommodate the refugees fleeing their country's civil war. (This is how the colonize conquered territory, just like when they built a mosque in the shadow of the Twin Towers a few years ago.)

The offer, that is pending approval from German authorities, comes after wealthy Gulf nations have been criticized for doing little to offer refuge to Syrians and Iraqis displaced by the civil war. Despite being a part of the US-led coalition to fight the Islamic State (Isis) militants in Syria and Iraq, wealthy Gulf nations have not been at the forefront as the migrant crisis looms over Europe.

Gulf states, including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, "have offered zero resettlement places to Syrian refugees," according to an Amnesty International report from December 2014, reported France24 News. Meanwhile, several neighbouring countries, like Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq have taken in several refugees.

While the Kingdom has assisted financially by contributing to a UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Syria fund, critics say that is not enough. "Burden sharing has no meaning in the Gulf, and the Saudi, Emirati and Qatari approach has been to sign a cheque and let everyone else deal with it," said Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of Human Rights Watch for its Middle East and North Africa division, reported The New York Times. "Now everyone else is saying, 'That's not fair.'"

According to UN estimates, over 4 million Syrians have left their country's civil war in the hope of a better life. Germany is expecting nearly 800,000 asylum applicants and refugees in 2015.

"Liberalism is the ideology of Western suicide," wrote James Burnham in his 1964 "Suicide of the West." Burnham predicted that the mindless magnanimity of liberals, who subordinate the interests of their own people and nations to utopian and altruistic impulses, would bring about an end to Western civilization.

Was he wrong? Consider what is happening in Europe.

Serbia, Hungary and Slovakia, small nations sensing they will be swamped by asylum seekers from the Muslim world, are trying to seal their borders and secure their homelands.

Their instinct for survival, their awareness of lifeboat ethics, is acute. Yet they are being condemned for trying to save themselves.

Meanwhile, the pope calls on Catholics everywhere to welcome the asylum seekers and Angela Merkel will be taking in 800,000 this year alone, though the grumbling has begun in Bavaria.

This is but the beginning of what is to come, if Europe does not pull up the drawbridge.

For the scores of thousands of Syrians in the Balkans, Hungary, Austria and Germany are only the first wave. Behind them in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan are 4 million refugees from the Syrian civil war. Seeing the success of the first wave, they are now on the move.

Behind them are 2 million Alawites and 2 million Christians who will be fleeing Syria when the Bashar Assad regime falls to ISIS and the al-Qaeda terrorists who already occupy half of that blood-soaked land.

Now the Iraqis, who live in a country the prospects for whose reunification and peace are receding, have begun to move. Also among the thousands pouring into Europe from Turkey are Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Afghans. When the Americans leave Afghanistan and the Taliban take their revenge, more Afghans will be fleeing west.

Africa has a billion people, a number that will double by 2050, and double again to 4 billion by 2100. Are those billions of Africans going to endure lives of poverty under ruthless, incompetent, corrupt and tyrannical regimes, if Europe's door remains wide open?

What is coming is not difficult to predict.

Europe is going to run out of altruism long before it runs out of refugees. For as The New York Times reported Monday, there is no end in sight to the coming Third World and Islamic migrations to Europe.

Humanitarian groups, said the Times, claim "successive waves of migrants ... are on the way, perhaps for months or even years, until the wars, poverty and other underlying causes of the dislocations have abated."

But with terrorism expanding from Nigeria to the Maghreb to the Middle East, wars spreading, and tyranny pandemic in those regions, will not a peaceful, prosperous and free Europe always be a magnet?

If Europe does not seal its borders, what is to stop the Islamic world and Third World from coming and repopulating the continent with their own kind, as the shrinking native populations of Europe die out?

Will Old Europe even be recognizable by midcentury?

The inevitable reaction to what is happening has already begun.

European nations will divide with anti-immigrant parties like the National Front in France and UKIP in Britain gaining adherents until the major parties embrace restrictions on immigration or are swept aside.

Already there is a backlash in Germany and Austria to the tens of thousands invited in. Eastern Europe, with shrinking populations of native-born, has shown little interest in admitting migrants.

Though attacked by his opposition, Israel's Bibi Netanyahu will not be admitting Arab and Muslim asylum seekers. Having built a fence from Gaza to Eilat to keep Africans from crossing the Sinai, a wall to separate the West Bank from Israel, Bibi is now building a fence on the Jordanian border.

The Palestinian Authority's Mahmoud Abbas says he would welcome Palestinian asylum seekers. Both sides know that, in this struggle, demography may very well be destiny.

The Schengen Agreement that guarantees "open borders" among EU nations is also unlikely to survive this invasion. The old national borders of Europe will be re-established.

And as divisions deepen within and between countries over how many to accept, and when to shut the door, the EU may itself crack up over this most momentous and emotional of issues.

The scores of thousands of migrants bursting into Europe and the hundreds of thousands and millions coming after them are going to force Europeans to address an existential question.

Who are we? Are we unique and separate peoples of a particular race and tribe, history and faith, language and culture, identifiable to all the world and worth preserving at the price of our lives?

Are we Germans, Russians, Poles, Italians, Spanish and French first?

Or are we simply Europeans, people who live on the world's smallest continent and share a belief in the equality of all peoples and cultures, and in secularism and social democracy? From Cal Thomas, noted journalist:

Liberal Man almost alone excepted, every species of animal life reacts or recoils when another species intrudes upon its turf.

Thus, in the end, Burnham was probably right.

Liberalism is the ideology of Western suicide.

Exactly! Those who do not learn the lesson of history are doomed to repeat it. Thousands of times the Iranians have proven they hate us and will never live up to any deal negotiated with them. Now, we have given them nuclear power. Isn't it odd that no Arab nation is doing anything to help these refugees?

Back when I was in school, I performed a scientific experiment in which I poured a liquid of one color into a beaker that contained liquid of a different color. At first the liquid in the beaker was diluted, but as I kept pouring, the poured liquid eventually overtook the liquid in the beaker, creating an entirely new substance. That’s what is happening in Europe as thousands of migrants flee their home countries, seeking refuge in the European Union. Germany, alone, is expected to have received 800,000 migrants by the end of the year, four times last year’s number. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has suspended the EU’s Dublin Regulation for Syrian migrants. Under the rule, writes The Telegraph, “…migrants can only apply for asylum in the first EU member state they enter, and face deportation if they try to apply in another. But Germany … has now ordered its officers to process applications from Syrians even if they have made their way through other EU countries.” Critics of the Dublin Regulation have called it expensive and ineffective. Many Syrian migrants reach Greece first, but decline to seek asylum there, preferring to push on toward Hungary, which is considered the gateway to Europe. Merkel has said she might reinstate border checks, which was a regular practice before the EU was created. She should. That most of these migrants come from Muslim countries raises several important questions. The first is how many actual or potential terrorists are among them? Second, why would Muslims, many of whom believe the West is decadent and anti-God, want to come to Europe? Third, why haven’t these migrants sought refuge in other Muslim countries, which one might think would be their first priority? No nation, no continent, can survive uncontrolled immigration, especially when it involves people whose language, religion, culture and worldview differ — in some cases radically — from the countries to which they are migrating. Uncontrolled migration in Europe and illegal immigration in the United States spell an eventual death knell for both countries, which is, no doubt, the intent of ISIS, which is reportedly backing this flood of humanity. Will those flooding Europe eventually embrace European values, or when their numbers grow to the point where they form a significant percentage of the population, will the migrants demand that their values and religion dominate? In the U.S., cries of “racism” in the immigration debate have replaced sound reason. But this isn’t about discriminating against people of a different language or color; it is about preserving what we have, not only for those of us who have contributed to making America what it is, but also for immigrants who would not only like to partake of our success, but contribute to it. If nations want to preserve the lifestyles and culture which they and their forebears have worked and fought to create and sustain for themselves, their posterity and for immigrants, borders must be controlled and assimilation must be a top priority for those who are allowed to enter. Otherwise, nations become disunited with competing subsets jostling for power, influence and benefits. Those who support “open borders” have an obligation to tell us when enough is enough. Must we wait until the American “liquid,” which contains the values, faith and prosperity from capitalism that built and sustained us through wars and depressions, is replaced by a different “liquid”? What happens when the “takers” outnumber the “makers”? If we wait for that day to arrive before we act, it will be too late. Yes, give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free — but legally, in an orderly fashion and not en masse. And let’s also learn what these migrants and immigrants likely mean by “freedom.” If they mean Sharia law, that is not freedom for Europe, or for America. If the EU and the U.S. fail to address this very real crisis, we and they are assisting in national suicide. © 2015 Tribune Content Agency, LLC.
